If you are using
this course site, you are in a class that includes eitherÉ

A
special assignment called a Òcourse embedded assessment.Ó Although the
assignment is a regular part of the class, it is also used as a sample
assignment to help Dallas Christian College assess how we are doing. The
assignment will be graded like any other course assignment according to the
standards of the class. After it is graded, your instructor or an assigned
assessor will evaluate the assignment based on a rubric that helps us know
whether we are accomplishing our program objectives. This information helps us
continually improve our program and give you the best education possible. It is important that you submit the assignment here rather
than giving the assignment directly to the instructor.
ÉORÉ
á
A set
of journal assignments that will guide you through a process of learning,
doing, and reflecting on a specific spiritual discipline. This group of
journals is a part of the spiritual formation and mentoring emphasis of DCC. This work is graded, with the main requirement being that you
truly engage in the exercise. This grade will impact your course grade
(see your syllabus). Be sure to watch the feedback your instructor gives on
these journals. If you are willing to share transparently through your
reflections on this experience, you may find your instructor will use the
feedback area to actively walk beside you in the process. (These journals are
used only in Quest and Online classes.)
Some Quest and
Online classes will include both course-embedded assessments and a spiritual
disciplines journal series. Contact Bruce Long blong@dallas.edu
if you have any questions or comments.
