Logos 6 Starter Bible Software (more advanced Logos libraries are also acceptable)
NOTE to new DCC students: You will purchase the Logos license through the school rather than directly from Logos. This purchase will be made via the Bible Program Software Fee—a $170 fee assessed in the student’s first semester at DCC. See the “Bible Program Software Fee Explanation” document for more information, including how to opt out of this fee if you already own Logos.
NOTE to existing DCC students: If you have not already purchased a copy of Logos, you may now do so by opting in to the Bible Program Software Fee (see attached document). If you prefer to purchase your software directly from Logos using your own funds, you may still take advantage of their discounted academic pricing by visiting https://www.logos.com/academic/program.
Read the following selections from Logos resources:
From your class site (or, in this case, the link below):
- From the Holman Bible Handbook (Ed., Dockery, David S.):
- Scott, J. Julius. "Backgrounds of the New Testament." (page 676)
- Polhill, John B. "The New Testament and History." (page 590)
- Songer, Harold S. "Religious Background of the New Testament." (page 608)
- "The Gospels." (pages 536-540)
- Blomberg, Craig L. "The New Testament and Criticism." (page 544)
- From Lexham Bible Dictionary (Eds., John D. Barry and Lazarus Wentz):
- Lamerson, Sam. "Historical Jesus, Quest for the."
These are the multiple-choice questions students should use as a reading guide for the resources listed above. Students will submit answers through an open-book, open-note quiz on your Moodle class site once it is up and running again.
